Fellow Emily Jacobs at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California at Berkeley performs a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) brain scan on a female volunteer. She's exploring how dopamine-related genes and estrogen influence cognition by scanning women at specific stages in their menstrual cycle.
