Propose an Institution or Conference Visit
Thank you for your interest in having the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program visit your institution or conference to discuss funding for eligible Master’s and PhD students.
As part of NSF’s mission to reach underrepresented universities and regions across the United States, an institution or conference visit and presentation for students, faculty, and staff may be requested. Due to our limited personnel and availability, we strongly encourage that appropriate faculty, staff, and current GRFP fellows at your institution have been approached to give the presentation and distribute handouts. Please note: Institutions who currently have very few or no GRFP fellows will take precedence over institutions who currently have a large number of fellows.
In order to make our visit the most productive for all interested parties, we ask that the following criteria are addressed:
- There is a confirmed audience of at least 30 students, faculty, and staff willing to attend a presentation with a question and answer session.
- At institutions, we are able to meet with appropriate deans and administrators to discuss current trends, questions, and experiences concerning student involvement and applications to the GRFP.
- The event is publicized to all appropriate audiences, including undergraduate, graduate, and faculty in the sciences and engineering fields.
- Any current or fromer GRFP fellows or review panelists are encouraged to attend in order to share their experiences.
- Your proposal is sent at least 60 days in advance.

If you would like to request an institution or conference visit, please email the Outreach Team at outreach@nsfgrfp.org with a short proposal including:
1) The requested date of visit
2) Ways the above criteria will be met
3) Ways your institution or organization has been, or would like to be, involved with promoting the GRFP
